Most creative advertisements

My favorites :

I start with these series of ads/witty pics which talk about how simple things would be if life was as easy as an "undo"/"back" button. Enjoy!

The one below...is for Diet Pepsi.

Indeed, a picture says a thousand words!

The next 2 images bring about sexual humor. Creativity has no bounds.

Stop smoking!

Maybe muddy should see these two....

A very touching advertisement created for public awareness :

All the "gums" in our life.

Well a glue can fix almost anything. Don't believe me, please have a look.

And the last one....well this one is my favorite!

At times....

We do this....at times!

I dropped Manavi to office today and she didn't introduce me to the Meow girls.
So I have decided on writing these fun facts about her....right here. Most people who know her will find it funny. For all the rest of you....don't even bother. It's a waste of words and space. But then "sanoooo ki??!!" ;)

#1 : Manavi giving directions to reach somewhere is like....bleh!
And there are some fine days...when she gets up on the wrong side of the bed and starts drawing maps :(

#2 : She has aced all competitive examinations in her life including SNAP.
Ask how much she got in Math?
She had also got admissions in one India's premier B school and then rejected it. Tch Tch!

#3 : There was once a guy who even changed his name just for her.
After all, he was just impressing her. She never spoke to him again.

#4 : Her favorite word currently is: freak!

#5 : All the guys that fall for her...will be destroyed at some point in time. Lets exclude my Raj from this list :)

#6 : I can't remember...enlighten me dude!

An absolutely useless post!
Happy weekend to you all :)
I know am gonna have a great one!

The "BEST" magazine covers ever!

Lets begin in the reverse order :

#10 : This story till date is considered to be the longest ever article to be published in ESQUIRE. A lot of 33,000 words! The all black cover with the white inscription helped in changing the public perception on the Vietnam war and was a landmark in journalism.

What I like about it, is the impact that it creates just as you see it. I would have definitely picked up this magazine from the stands.

Esquire October 1966

#9 : This photo was used as a tribute to John Lennon on Jan 22, 1981. It was taken a few hours before Lennon was shot on December 8, 1980.

In the picture : John Lennon and Yoko Ono

One of the kinds...!!

#8 : Jordan in his chicago bulls costume jumping in an all white background.

The article describes rather speculates on whether Jordan should retire or not.

What I love about it is : The shadow of jordan, the background and the use of red and white!

#7 : The image wasn't supposed to portray what it did. However it was marked as a symbol of the sexual scandal in the white house with Monica Lewinskey.

What I like about it : The man looks content! ;-)

#6 : This particular cover of the Dixie Chicks was after the criticism they had received after the remarks they had given on America's invasion of Iraq.

They also speak about their careers in the country music industry.

May 2, 2003

#5 : Shows the provacative shot of a naked and very pregnant Demi Moore. This was taken after one of her most successful movies "Ghost".

The cover moved her up in hollywood's A-list.

My Take : Was she really pregnant in this one?The pictures looks very unnatural to me. But of course it would be one of the most revollutioniary covers Vanity fair ever came up with.

#4 : This cover of People features a black and white photograph of Princess Diana, and the issue is a tribute to her life after she was killed in August 1997 in a car crash. Diana appeared on the cover of the magazine a record 52 times and was one of the most popular People cover subjects.
My take :
There are so many stories to her death.
Was it an accident or a murder?
The love for the person around the entire nation brought tears in my eyes when I saw the ceremony. The best part about her life was the fact that she always lived it up! Sadly...she dies coz of living life on her terms, always. An unfortunate event in time.

#3 : An opinion of 3 christian theologians thet God was dead as he was no longer visible in public and religion was dead. The article received a lot of criticism from the readers.

My take : I love the cover. Would make me buy the magazine even if I didn't know the significance of the TIME magazine. Good use of Red on solid black. Impactful !

#2 : The very famous cover of the national geographic that shows a 12 year old refugee in a camp on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. It is one of the highest reproducible images in the world.

It received the greatest number of photography awards.

My take : The eyes haunt me. She has a thousand stories hidden in them, and she speaks nothing.

The article ends here.

I would give the best cover in my next post.
Hope you enjoyed the selection.

An end to Life

Today,I had a thought.I thought of the number of global events, phenomenas occuring all around us,while we continue to pass them by.

So here it goes, the top of the bottom...one of the reasons that could put an end to life,as we know
it.
*******************
Clash of the civilisations

"In the year of the new century and nine months, from the sky will come a great king of terror. The sky will burn at 45 degrees... fire approaches the great new city... there will be thunder... The third big war will begin when the city is burning."

Many deciphered this message from a 16th century making some accurate forecasts.

A few thought it had begun...the beginning of the end.

Centuries ago,the crusades,as they say,was an attempt by the Church to establish Christianity and its value all over the world. After centuries of dominance, deliberation, the Islamic leaders seek a new coming, trying to eliminate an existing generation-a hindrance in a new utopian world, a misfit to a world order.
******************
A Personal Encounter

Working in a news channel makes you immune from emotions, sympathy, forget empathy.
I still remember the day Benazir Bhutto came back to Pakistan...the fateful day that saw the bomb blast in Islamabad killing hundreds of people.

The morning after, a woman in my office turned to me and sighed.
"I am glad this news broke fifteen minutes after my shift or I wouldn't have seen my son tonight".
At a loss for words,I walked away.

"What a bloody hoe..."came to me,being so disgusted with people for ...
For what?for wanting to go home after a nine hour shift with two fifteen minute breaks?

Or to wait.Wait till it affects them.

*******************************
An Inconvenient Truth(Copyrights are still owned by Mr.Gore)

If it isn't that, our actions are continously aggravating this on-going debate on a term, well, in a predictably high demand know was "global warming."

After coming in handy for many, including a film personality who took twenty minutes at IIFA awards.Ofcourse, this was after he made an entry in a sports car with a top speed of 240 kilometers per hour.

Cutting the sarcasm,here's a lowdown.

After shitting where we eat,the green house emissions have made the temperatures soar as high as the skyscrapers of New York, making it an "inhospitable" environment for the people, to come.

************************
A series of unfortunate events

If this isnt enough, there are many those who die out of misfortune.
Thousands of citizens of Myanmar have lost their homes, belongings and lives,as they knew it,to cyclone Nargis.

If the most powerful country felt crippled when Hurricane Katrina in 2005, a developing country known as Myanmar desperately needs your attention.

Peaceful demonstrations by the monks in the last few months against the military regime has kept Myanmar in news. While many were killed then, the toll seems to have reached 1,00,00 people.

As for the first time, this catastrophe has let the junta open their doors a little to foreign aid, people urgently need food, water, shelter and medical aid.

While many phenomenas, wars, cyclones and well, shark attacks await us,it is time for those who remain unaffected to help those who have survived.

Let it not be just another entry on a namless blogspot, log onto https://www.donate.bt.com/bt_form_cyclone.html through http://www.bbc.co.uk/ ,
https://secure2.convio.net/unicef/site/Donation2?df_id=3381&3381.donation=form1 through UNICEF or any such organisations ready to make an initiative.

Being Single

Since the time I got back home, I decided that I will become an ardent reader. I always tried to make time to read but somehow bangalore kept me busy. Now call it a lack of friends in Delhi...I decided I'd make books my friends.

However such lines work only for my dad and my sister.

They can survive on books...I realized I couldn't.

I had 2 books staring at me. I picked up the first one "To kill a mocking bird". It is supposed to be a legendary novel and everyone who's read it tells me that. But then I couldn't go past the second chapter. I am still trying but the snooze alarm in my head always bursts out when i read the same page the 27th time.
It has it's own pros. It lets me sleep.

The other was a biography on Shah rukh Khan by Anupama Chopra. I read the first chapter. I learnt things about bollywood I already knew. Then I saw a couple of pictures in between the book, that I had already seen. I decided that this book would give me no insights or motivations to one of the greatest success stories in India. No matter how big a fan you are... I don't really recommend this one.

Then came the book that I actually really wanna talk about. Well not a lot....no...not this time.
I have been recommending this book to everyone who reads. The men don't seem to listen...however the women always seem excited.

The book is called "Almost Single" and it is written by a first time writer Advaita Kala. I got this book at a book club meeting in office.

When she entered the room, she seemed a bit arrogant and a "shallow" author. I wish I could chew my words before saying this....cuz when I got reading I thoroughly and truly enjoyed this book.

I have even been inspired to write a "Being Single", if the title hasn't already been taken.

But on a more serious note, it's a delight.Exclamation point.

It is extremely funny and very relatable(Btw that's not a word). The protagonist of the book is Aisha Bhatia who is a Guest Relations Manager in a 5 star hotel who tolerates her job, hates her boss, bonds with her friends, doesn't care much about the way she looks, and is in search for love and matrimony. She is 29 and goes through a plethora emotions at work, life, home, love and not to forget - her mom who's absolutely frantic about marrying her off and she truly believes that her girl is way past her marriageable age.

And then there is Karan. As soon as I got to know that the lover or the hero or the actor (;)) of this book is named Karan, I developed a new found respect for Advaita. After all Maya's fiance was also Karan and I am in love with the name.

Secret : Every time a guy named Karan sends me a friend request on Orkut. I don't blindly reject!

Reasons why I loved it so much.

1. It was the fastest ever read of my life. It took me an entire Sunday and yea I finished it.
2. It was the Indian version of SATC. I told you people we loved it.
But then it's all about grandma underwear (oh I so love that concept) , sex, love, stress at work, meeting the right people, marriages and the special bond that we share only with our friends.
3. The most important reason was relating to it. I relate to Aisha and at times life does become hard but then you still deal with it cuz its your own. The best part of the book is still the fact that Aisha is so damn funny!

So please read it.

To all the women I know - it's a gift! Go ahead and pick up a copy.

To all the men - Firstly it's extremely funny and care to understand us more...?? And yea...it's just not another chick-lit!

Here's my attempt as well....

I have to agree, I had to dig into my writings to find something romantic which was never published....

It was just one of those days... It was forbidden. It was so exciting.
I still can't forget that evening.
It was beautiful.It was late.
I had missed an important conference. But nothing really mattered.

I think I was falling in love...I don't know why it happens so fast... but there were butterflies all around. He was leaving forever.

I should have felt sad but I just didn't. I didn't expect it to happen.
It was just a blissful moment and it a goodbye.

Was tired but managed to look good. There was a glow and it comes just once in a while.I stepped foot into the house if given a chance I wouldn't wanna leave.

But I was cinderella that night and the clock would strike 12 and I would have to leave (with or without the shoes). He said I looked smashing. I smiled and looked into his eyes. He smiled back. I think he understood.

I remember sitting down near the music system in his balcony. I looked at him and complained. He told me things could change. I didn't believe him and I was right.

As the night went by, I gulped a lot. A lot of breezers, vodka, etc etc and he held me and we sat together. I was on the 7th heaven.

The clock kept ticking. It would soon be over forever.I started feeling dizzy. Obviously I had never had this much. He said "lie down for sometime". I said ok.

We went down to his room. It was dark. I lied down and he sat beside me. He said his best words that day, "I can't believe you are lying on my bed!! " Was he a teenager??, I smile back at it.

I said I feel better and we went back.

After some time, it was time. Cinderella had to run and he couldn't accompany her. The party was afterall in his . Wish I could have stayed. It was only a wish. Life went back to normal. It was just one of those magical hours that were special. He never found me like the prince. I never bothered. It was just one of those days...

An attempt to write on a lovehead part 1

The people whom I speak of are a part of a story that continues till this very moment...this is just an excerpt, one of the many which will be based on them.Let the legacy begin...
***
The first time she met him was after chatting and countless phone conversations without taking consent of using her sister's cellphone,(which was really cool then, since a call cost 7 bucks per minute) on school nights.

These conversations bore witness to their mild flirting and the fact that, well, she really liked talking to him.

After a serious relationship for each of them, shaking them to the core,somehow...after 6 years of long yet erratic conversations...the last few months have given her the most romantic moments of her life.

Here goes some of her favourite moments...

*The first time they had a Monday morning together. It was almost as if nothing out of the two of them existed. And the time they finally saw the clock on the table,it was close to 3 p.m.

"Oh shit" he said..."do you wanna get lunch?"
And she replied..."it really doesnt look like you're interested in eating lunch out of all the things."

He teases her about that till this day.

*It was only considered natural, hell stereotypical and old fashioned...something she was a staunch believer in...let the guy woo you as those days are saved in your hard disk as the bestest moments ever.

He claimed to having "run after" her for two months. Needless to say,we need to add a sarcastic yet imaginary "Wow,thanks!!" as her reply.

So abiding the laws set by nature or man,he finally said it.
He asked her out.Or atleast he tried...at a dinner table,on the bed,in the car and in the auto. And her reply was the same..."did you just ask me out?"

It is safe, nay, neccessary to say that she drove him crazy. But the favourite moment came of this story came when he didnt expect it.

She was finally ready. And so,over a cup of cappuchino in a cafe, she asked him out.

It doesn't taste the same everytime he's not around.

*It had only been a couple of months since she had started earning. The world was hers, and she was out there to conquer it...Well,atleast by shopping. While her motif was to buy a whole new winter collection,he stood patiently by her side while she went to shop by shop in a South Delhi market on a very cold evening.

She loved him for being patient. She loved it even more when he paid for her shopping.

She thought he was a gift from god when he asked her to take him to her favourite silver jewellery shop.

And then he did the most amazing thing ever.

After buying her the most favourite ring(s) of all times,he promised to live in the hope of spending the rest of their lives together.

It was one of the most favourite evenings of her life, till date.

The couple that we refer to,still have a lot to be written about.

Finally

Since Manavi has cut the ribbon or so to say... It's my turn to churn out a "significant" contribution to the sister mania!

As usual, the Siddhanti phobia continues..!!
We are here and we are here to stay.

Fun facts about our huge effort:

1. This blog will (read WILL) contain a lot of adult content without any warnings.

2. This blog might be another edition to SATC. Cuz WE (read me) worship them!

3. We intend to ramble...(well a lot!)

4. We intend to be sexist!

5. We don't hate boys!

6. And we don't like people who READ and forget to comment!
(Here's a tip : You do not necessarily need to login..to leave a comment!)

7. And we definitely don't like people who don't READ at all.

8. I never write on the no.8... it's just unlucky!

9. Please try not to mix our( read YOUR) personal lives with the content written here.

10. Please don't believe too much in us. And if you do, you can always talk to us!
We would recommend a doctor for your mental illness.

Manavi....ramble on hun!

Ramblings-part 1

It was far off the promethian light, digging into the layers of darkness and solitude, loneliness yet peace, that found her.Far from the world of nothing and nullity to the world of nothingness, she took time...to stop pretending. To stop and think.

It was in the ruins of this haunted building, that she found a moment of peace. She was alone. She had won.

It took her a long time to reach her destination.

She had entered a world of power, money, corruption, greed and power.A mere 22 year old woman was mocked at by the those who dominated the arena...those who knew the tricks of the trade. These warriors had won many battles, conquered territories and had destroyed the strongest men of all time.

Conspiracy, hatred and revenge were the means to usurp everything that was not theirs. And a mere mortal,a mere woman ,young of age had come in the midst of the most momentous battles of all times.A mere puppet in the game of warriors, she was to be controlled.

She was a supposed rubber stamp, to seal the needs of the arsenal. And then they came, the supposed enemies. And then she made her move. She be-friended her allies, made friends with enemies, seeking glory layered deep within loss.

Within all the sublimity, hid the splendour. When asked in the assembly of her kingdom-"why did thou betray us?betray those who shed their bed for thy kingdom, thy heritage, thy territory."She replied-"There are many lands to be conquered, many to be betrayed,to expand thy horizons, fair is foul and foul is fair.

It is in these ruins of an unfinished battle, amongst the corpuses of the dead...in these sands of time that had she thought she had won the battle.

But at this moment of triumph, she saw the look in the innocent eyes of a young lad,a stranger yet no stranger....There were many battles to be won, many men to be brought down, many lands to conquer...yet something unspoken inside, had finally spoken.

There it was.A silver knife, with red stains bearing signs of brutality.

The very persons of our noble story

As they were living; think you see them great,

And follow'd with the general throng and sweat

Of thousand friends; then in a moment, see

How soon this mightiness meets misery:

And, if you can be merry then, I'll say

A man may weep upon his wedding-day.

All about "WE"

Hey all,

Since you all have joined hands to witness this memorable event, where the skies meet and rivers join...Me and my sister, have come together to laugh, cry, entertain, bitch, nag and criticise.

What we welcome further is to act as a "cohesive unit" against those spread hatred,anger,discrimination,prejudice...and well, against who have better blogs.

Lastly, for all those boobies thinking about the origin of the name of our blog,so to say...it goes back to the time when all were happy and no one ever thought that we'd ever write on a blog...And as the sun rose that day like all the others,my cousin brother made fun of his little brother's ridiculously large tummy.

What went on was a series of uncensored monologues of insults releasing bouts of laughters in plentitude by the two girls sitting in their room.

After my brother's parents begged him to not push his brother down the first floor balcony,he thought about all the times he has repressed all his emotions only because he was older.

He thought of it being unfair and wondered if his parents loved this little pain in the ass, more than himself.

And so he turned around,he faced his brother who was still rambling on like a Sony Cassette player from the olden days.

That was that.

He finally said it...he finally cried out loud....Triple T W.

Talk to the Wall.

If you actually bought this story, you need to talk to me.
